CareGo raises money for the Literacy Express

A sunny day and close to 70 enthusiastic golfers at CareGo’s 14th annual charity golf tournament resulted in $16,655 being raised in support of literacy programming in a north-end Hamilton neighbourhood.

Proceeds went to the Literacy Express, a converted CN train car that will be used as a library and education centre at the Eva Rothwell Resource Centre – a hub offering programs and services that help improve the quality of life for local children and families.

The tournament, for CareGo staff, clients and business associates, took place at Indian Wells Golf Club in Burlington on August 23. The tournament has benefitted the Literacy Express project for the last several years.
