CareGo experienced a busy and positive year, with worldwide interest being expressed in our unique optimization and automation technology for the safe and efficient handling of heavy products.
The first international installation of CareGo technology was completed at the Port of Liverpool steel terminal in April, and is operating very successfully. Following the Liverpool installation, CareGo has fielded interest from steel, paper, aluminum and automotive manufacturers in the United Kingdom, Europe, India, New Zealand, the United States and Canada. CareGo can now offer Export Development Corporation financing to qualified buyers.
In late 2013, CareGo was selected and is now being promoted by the British government as a success story for expansion to the UK (through its United Kingdom Trade and Investment initiative).
A Canadian installation of CareGo’s optimization and automation technology is now underway in the Greater Toronto Area and will be completed in spring 2014.
In fall 2013, CareGo received approval for its first patent, for the load-equalizing Artemis pallet, which enables the safe transport of steel and aluminum coils. In other innovation news, CareGo launched its automated check-in kiosk for truck drivers, which increases the number of truck deliveries that can be processed each day. Kiosk systems are now available for purchase and installation.
Locally, CareGo’s busy logistics hub in Hamilton, Ontario continues to focus on steel commodities: coil, plate, and pipe and tube. In 2014, the plant will be redeveloped as a living laboratory for the design, testing and showcasing of CareGo’s innovative products and systems.
The senior team at CareGo expanded significantly in 2013 to reflect the growing business, bringing on board a Vice President, Supply Chain Innovation; Vice President, Communications; and a Director, Automation.
CareGo was honoured with two awards in 2013: Outstanding Business Achievement in the field of Communications Technology from the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Appreciation Award from the City of Hamilton.
